Customer Q & A

What is the Pure Water ULTIMA 888 drinking water system?
It is the latest drinking water technology from the U.S.A. It consists of a water purifier that sits on top of a dispenser and is connected directly to the dispenser.

Does the unit sitting on top of the dispenser actually purify the water?
Yes. Through multiple technologies.

How does it work?
The incoming water is first filtered, then an ion exchange media is used to remove certain contaminants. The main purifier is a distiller, which actually boils the water converting it to steam and then back to water. This step allows only very pure (99.9%+) water to be produced. Before entering the dispenser, the water passes through a carbon filter to improve taste or an optional mineral filter to lightly remineralize the water.

Why use distillation?
When combined with carbon filtration, distillation is the most effective method of water purification and can be used throughout the world on all types of incoming water.

What water can be used?
It is preferred that city water be used. However, the unit can treat water directly from a well, spring or other source.

Can the Pure Water ULTIMA 888 convert sea water to drinking water?
Technically it can. However, it has not been designed for this application and using sea water is not recommended as the unit would require significant maintenance.

Where can the unit be installed?
Practically anywhere. It requires an electrical outlet and a level location where it will not be bumped or moved. Access to a water supply line is greatly preferred so the unit may be connected to the line and operate automatically. However, the unit can be set up where there is no water line and the unit be filled manually.

How much water does the Pure Water ULTIMA 888 produce?
It produces up to ~888 liters (240 gallons) per month or ~30 liters (8 gallons) per day. This may vary from location to location.

What are the two tanks in the front of the unit for?
The top tank holds the raw water that is to be treated. The bottom tank contains fresh pure drinking water. The water from the bottom tank flows into the dispenser.

What type of dispenser is used?
This is a special dispenser with extra capacity. Typical dispensers hold approximately ~3.7 liters (1 gallon) of water. This dispenser holds almost ~22 liters (6 gallons) in its reservoir. When it needs more water, it will get it from the bottom tank of the distiller.

When the bottom tank of the distiller is empty, does that mean there is no drinking water available?
Usually not. It probably means there is still ample water inside the dispenser for your drinking water needs.

Can I use a locally produced dispenser?
Technically yes. This would require special fittings available from your Pure Water representative. Locally produced units are typically of small capacity and variable quality, and, as a result, are not recommended for use. The dispensers provided by Pure Water meet the image required for the program.

Can the unit run out of water?
If the demand for water has been unusually heavy, it is possible. However, your Pure Water representative has carefully surveyed your needs and recommended the number of units based on the expected usage. Your Pure Water representative may suggest additional units if this continues.

What maintenance is required?
The unit is designed for little maintenance in the normal situation. Typically, a maintenance visit every three to six months will be required. However, in unusual conditions, the maintenance must be performed more frequently.

What does the operator have to do?
Keep the Pure Water ULTIMA clean. Simply drain off a small amount of waste residue each day and discard it. Otherwise, just enjoy the best drinking water available anywhere.

Who uses the Pure Water ULTIMA 888?
Initial reports from the U.S.A. indicate this unit has gained exceptional acceptance. Both small and large businesses and institutions are enjoying the use of the Pure Water ULTIMA 888. About one-third of the customers to date have previously used bottled water, and another one-third have been using some other type of point-of-use water treatment.

How can I get a Pure Water ULTIMA 888 drinking water system for my office?
See your Pure Water franchise.

Is there a larger system available?
Yes. The Pure Water ULTIMA 5555 is a system that produces up to ~5555 liters (1,500 gallons) per month or ~189 liters (50 gallons) per day.

Are franchises available for the Pure Water 888?
Yes. In many parts of the world, franchises are still available. Please contact Pure Water or your Pure Water Franchisee.
